Interior Design Project - Holiday Cottage, Chester
The brief for this project was to create a simple and serviceable holiday cottage, suitable for lettings, that was in keeping with the house and would appeal to the top end of the holiday let market. The house was also used as a film location for an ITV drama series ‘Home Fires, so when the film crew left, the house was basically a shell.
Colours were kept neutral, for a fresh and clean look and the bed linen crisp and white. The budget was tight, so every decision was made with a cost in mind. The overall look is light and airy but relaxing, and cosy in the evening with the use of shutter blinds on the downstairs windows.
From the first meeting with Claire, from Bought With Love Interiors we were completely at ease. She totally understood how we wanted the holiday cottage to be used and knew exactly how it should look based on the age and type of building. We felt we just didn’t have to worry about anything.
Claire has an enviable instinct for style and a meticulous eye for detail. The results were beyond what we could have imagined. It looks amazing but we sort of knew it would from the moment she gave us her ideas. It functions brilliantly and we would not change a thing.
She is also a great project manager - we were not aware of any hiccups and certainly were not bothered with logistical / organisational issues - it was a very smooth and calm experience. Definitely would not embark on another project again, without Claire on board.
